UKPW History

UKPW Timeline

UKPW has been entertaining thousands of people since 2003. However it wasn't always known by the same quartet of letters..

RNV Wrestling and UKPW

On Friday 12nd December 2003, UKPW held its debut event at:

The Waterside Theatre

Long Lane,

Holbury,

New Forest,

Hampshire.

A different promotion, RNV Wrestling, was also born in 2003.

RNV events spanned the United Kingdom, with the country's top competitors frequently performing under the RNV banner.

Championship Gold

In 2005, championships were introduced into RNV and were defended in various promotions across the country. One of which was UKPW.

These were the RNV Championship, RNV Inter-Regional Championship and RNV Tag Team Championships.

UKPW went into hiatus

In 2007, UKPW events were placed on-hold.

As UKPW events were mainly run by RNV Wrestling staff, it made sense to brand UKPW events under the RNV banner.

UKPW would make the odd appearance, however the promotion was officially shelved.

RNV becomes UKPW

In 2013, RNV Wrestling was taken over by 'Mr Clean' Anton Green, and repackaged into the brand we know and love today: United Kingdom Pro Wrestling. Anton wanted to restore the UKPW name, as it was synonymous with family-friendly entertainment: a philosophy he wanted to restore with his name business endeavour.

The existing RNV championships were adopted by UKPW and transformed.

  • RNV Tag Team Championships became the UKPW Tag Team Championships
  • RNV Inter-Regional Championship became the UKPW Inter-Regional Championship.
  • The RNV Championship was absolved. However, UKPW introduced the UKPW Championship in late 2014.

New Management

Since early 2020, UKPW has been under new management. 'Mr Clean' Anton Green hosted and upheld the family-friendly atmosphere that UKPW is built upon.

The newest management team will continue to provide families with an unforgettable night of professional wrestling! "Entertain the whole family" is our motto. We look forward to seeing you there!
