UKPW Showcase 2019

Match 1

Singles Match

'The Wonderkid' Jonny Storm defeats Daz by pinfall

The show kicked off with two veterans of British Wrestling. The contest was an evenly matched clinic of wrestling at it's best, with perfect execution and technique throughout. Storm was slightly more on the backfoot after the opening exchanges, however a mistake from his opponent allowed Storm to take advantage for a successful pinfall.

Match 2

Singles Match

Maverick Mayhew defeats Smashing Mike by pinfall

Smashing Mike looked to pick up a triumphant debut against the former UKPW Inter-Regional Champion, Maverick Mayhew. Mayhew's combination of speed and technical prowess gave him an early advantage, but the explosive power of Smashing Mike turned the tides quickly. Despite Smashing Mike's impressive display of sheer strength and dominance, Maverick's experience allowed him to pick up the victory.

Match 3

Scramble Match

**NEW INTER-REGIONAL CHAMPION**

Buff Broadside defeats Danny Sabbath, Fentos and Kieran Kurupt

In this contest, if you scored the most recent pinfall, you're the "Man To Beat". Participants can only gain the advantage if they pin the "Man To Beat". This was a hectic fast-paced contest that went all over the sports centre! A few highlights:

  • Kurupt was temporarily removed from the contest due to a hand injury, but soon returned to the ring to attack Fentos
  • Fentos tried leaving the building on multiple occasions when he was the "Man To Beat"
  • In the final 20 seconds, the winner changed hands twice. Sabbath pinned Fentos, then Broadside immediately pinned Sabbath.
  • Broadside was chased around the hall by Kurupt & Fentos until the timer ran out. Broadside entered the ring as the countdown ended, winning the contest to a gigantic roar from the audience!

Match 4

Tag Team Elimination Match

The Business (Anton Green/Gabriel Myers) defeats Manelli Dynasty (Sid/Steve Manelli) and Muscles Mansfield & Stewart Shephard, retaining the UKPW Tag Team Championships

While Mansfield & Shephard have had teaming success in various other promotions across the country, this veteran duo looked to pick up the ultimate win in their UKPW debut by dethroning the UKPW Tag Team Champions. Following an aggressive exchange in Gillingham a few months prior, Sid Manelli and Stewart Shephard focused their attention on each other. After miscommunication, Shephard accidentally blasted his partner with a Clothesline, allowing Manelli Dynasty to score the elimination. Steve Manelli looked to employ his usual dirty tactic to eliminate the champions, but his friendship and respect for The Business caused hesitation. A moment of hesitation from Steve allowed The Business to score the final elimination on Manelli Dynasty.

Last Man Standing Match

**NEW UKPW CHAMPION**

Dow Jones defeats Alexander Roth

Alexander Roth came out of the gates hot, blasting Dow with everything to end the contest early. However, Fentos at ringside pulled Dow out of the ring and held him up, breaking the 10 count and allowing Dow to continue. Roth's tag team partner, Kieran Kurupt, emerged at ringside to event the numbers. Suddenly, Senior Official Martin Raymondson appeared from nowhere holding a Kendo Stick and chased Fentos out of the sports centre. What followed was a hellacious brawl between Dow and Roth. Steel chairs were used; fire canes were used (and even a fire extinguisher!) Roth finally hit Dow with a Roth Bottom in what seemed like the final blow.

Before the referee could count to 10, Kurupt hit the referee preventing the count! A confused Roth asked Kurupt why he interfered, but instead of an explanation, Kurupt kicked Roth in the groin! Kurupt dragged Roth to the ring apron and threw Roth through a table! Martin Raymondson then emerged crawling on the floor, followed by Fentos who was threatening him with a Kendo Stick! Raymondson was forced to make the 10 count. Roth was unable to stand in time and Dow was crowned the NEW UKPW Champion!
