UKPW Wildcard 2016

UKPW Wildcard 2016

Match 1

Singles Match

'Doorman' Dom Taylor defeats Cell by pinfall

Our opening contest saw the UKPW debut of Cell, an unbelievably agile high-flyer looking to pull off an upset. Much to the surprise of everyone in attendance, Cell kept Taylor on the back foot for a significant portion of the contest. However Taylor's dominating strength took the ultimate victory after a HUGE German Suplex.

Match 2

Singles Match

Kyle Ashmore defeats Damon Moser by pinfall

These two competitors have met on numerous occasions across the country. Moser looked to pick up a win over the former UKPW inter-Regional Champion after an unsuccessful debut at Caged. Moser quickly found himself outclassed by Ashmore and resorted to a vicious forearm strike to gain the upper hand. Moser picked Ashmore apart, stretching and twisting limbs into unnatural positions. Attempts from Ashmore to creating separation were often thwarted by venomous strikes from Moser. However, Ashmore was able to create space after pulling down the back of Moser's trunk, revealing his bare rear-end. Moser returned the favour by revealing Ashmore's bare rear-end. Both men continued to fight back and forth until Ashmore executed a Death Valley Driver for the victory.

Despite his celebration, Ashmore was informed by Senior Official Martin Raymondson this his buttocks were still showing...how embarrassing...

Match 3

Tag Team Match

James Earls & 'Lord' Ian Loveless defeats Connor Mills & Kieran Kurupt by pinfall, retaining the UKPW Tag Team Championships

After their questionable capture of the UKPW Tag Team Championships at the previous event, Earls & Loveless took on the fletching team of Kurupt & Mills for their first defense. The veteran team controlled the contest early on, isolating Kurupt from his partner to pick the young man apart. Kurupt created some separation to mount a flurry of offense and tag in Mills. Unfortunately, a brief sequence on Earls was all that Mills could execute. A distraction from Loveless created enough time for Earls to rake Mills' eyes and hit a Skull Crushing Finale for a quick pinfall! Kurupt & Mills are fantastic young competitors, but their lack of teamwork cost them the contest.

Match 4

Dumpster Match

Dow Jones defeats 'Trashman' Marcus Broome by putting him in a Dumpster, retaining the UKPW Inter-Regional Championship

Old foes clash once again. Having lost the Inter-Regional Championship to Dow a few shows prior, 'Trashman' looked to retain the gold in a contest he's all too familiar with; a Dumpster Match! The rules were simple, throw your opponent in the dumpster and close the lid to win!

As you can expect, this contest was chaos from the word go. No square inch in the Community Centre was left unturned, every item of furniture was used a weapon (even dustbins!) Both men threw each other into the dumpster, but were unable to fully close the lid. Eventually, Dow produced a fire extinguisher and sprayed it into 'Trashman's' eyes. 'Trashman', unable to see, fell into the the dumpster where Dow closed the lid for the victory.

Match 5

Singles Match

Fentos defeats 'High Stakes' Tommy Martins by pinfall

Fentos looked to pick up his first win in UKPW, but he would be tested against a UKPW veteran: 'High Stakes' Tommy Martins. Martins controlled the early portion of the contest, displaying his experience by outmaneuvering Fentos. After evading a charge from Martins, Fentos sent 'High Stakes' crashing to the outside floor to swing the contest in his favour. Fentos used his size to keep Martins under wraps. Despite the pressure, Martins dug down deep to fight from underneath, pushing Fentos back on the proverbial ropes. Unfortunately, Fentos used his smarts to secure the victory, raking Martins' eyes out of the referee's view and hitting a Black Hole Slam for the pinfall.

Wildcard Match

The A-Listers (Muscles Mansfield/Chris Murphy/CJ Gunner/'Mr Hollywood' Shane Stevens) defeat Team Tycoon (Alexander Roth/'Doorman' Dom Taylor/Sam Irvine/Sid Manelli)

Sid Manelli started the contest for Team Tycoon despite being visibly disapproving of his teammates' antics. Team Tycoon maintained the one=man advantage throughout, but that didn't stop The A-Listers keeping them on the back foot. The last man to enter the contest was 'Mr Hollywood' Shane Stevens who has been seeking revenge on The Tycoon and his goons since their betrayal at Crowning Glory. Stevens entered as ball of energy and unleashed his anger on Irvine & Roth. After eliminating Irvine, Stevens looked to pin Roth to win the contest. Despite The Tycoon's best efforts to alter the outcome (including distracting 'Mr Hollwood'), Stevens put Roth away to secure The A-Listers' win!

After the contest, 'Hitman' Gabriel Myers (ho had been on commentary) and Shane Stevens cornered The Tycoon. 'Mr Hollywood' finally got his hands on The Tycoon, but Myers low-blowed Stevens! The Tycoon then gave Myers an expensive cheque for his protective services.
